THE BACKGROUND

Grow your own is something we Ugandans do without thinking.  We love food, and luckily we are good at growing the stuff, maybe it’s because we have such a deep infinity with the land.  Land is precious to us, passed down from generation to generation; it’s our Ugandan family heirloom.  As we love eating and are good at growing you can safely say we are good at cooking.

THE TASK

We have invited extreme foodie Julianna Yazbek to come and have go at cooking and eating Uganda style.  What is that you say??? Well follow Julianna on her culinary journey and you too can find out exactly what Ugandan style food is as Julianna delves into our Family Talenga clan cook book with Mama Joy Bafumba – aka our mum as her guide.

Armed with stash of Ugandan family recipes Julianna Yazbeck will combine it with her Lebanese heritage to create the Mother of all cultural fusions UGANG-BANESE.  Excited ? I am, Hungry – well my mouth is watering.

THE RESULT

Join us at The AFRORETRO School of Uganglish Super Club on the 24th, 25th & 26th of October to smell, taste and experience the edible delights of  this amazing cultural mash-up
